Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
So I am Etyene Schnurr, scientific advisor of Ceramics & Biological Dentistry Foundation, and it’s an enormous pleasure to have you here, Dr. Mosetter.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
Thank you, I appreciate it.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
So could you introduce yourself for us?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
Yes, I’m a medical doctor, but I’m also a naturopath. And so we specialized on a special topic which today it’s called inner GPS neuromuscular regulation in the jaw and in the neck. And so I know Uli since 20 years and there’s been a connection between Dietrich and Uli. And I’m very happy to be here because this place in your clinic is the most advanced. So dentists and Swiss Biohealth and I love to play together. So with good players and in our field, so with neuromuscular regulation and head and pain management, we need so all the things you do. For that reason, it’s a pleasure to be here and it’s a pleasure to work together with you.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Thank you. And I really want to know more about it. So your core competence on muscles and the therapy, the Myoreflex therapy that you developed, how can we bring this knowledge both together into oral cavity and teeth?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So I think Uli Volz and your team already organized it with all the people who focused on the teeth and the mouth, so that they have to know more about the neuromuscular balance of the jaw, then the neck muscle, then the orchestra of the brain nerves and the stress management. And the better the system is synchronized, less stress is active, the better the results what you do. And for that reason there are some points which are very helpful for all people who are in the field of dentists. And on the other side, we need you. So what all we do with neurological disease and pain disorder and pain, so we need to think about whether the teeth or an inflammation, a silent inflammation or NICO’s is disturbing the system and for that reason causing the problem. And so we have to learn from each other. And for that reason it’s so important that the community join together, that we educate and teach each other.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Yeah, so that’s a lot of chronical diseases. And why does dentistry play an important role in your work with chronicly ill patients?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So, from our experience and modern data proves that all chronic disease, all disease which are related to autoimmune disease, like multiple sclerosis or Parkinson’s, they are related to difficulties in the mouth. I call it oral health. And very often it’s associated to heavy metals, so mercury and aluminium, but also lead. And very often it’s associated to silent inflammation below the teeth. And if we do not care that it’s a hard life to rebalance the system of the client. So from our point of view, it’s an ecological system. We’re talking about immune ecosystem. And in that immune ecosystem we should focus on all things which can disturb and to cure our clients we need your help to get rid of that disturbance. And because sometimes it’s like in the cellar. So if there is a small fire in the cellar, the earlier I’m able to smell it, the better I can avoid so a huge fire in the house. And for that reason we have to smell and to check. And for that reason we need your experience in figuring out so that we do not miss a silent inflammation below the teeth, because otherwise all what we do is limited and we are willing to get fast results and long lasting results.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So for that reason, we need to join together. It’s very important.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
So, as I understood then, that’s also the practical work of dentistry and chronic disease that will work out as well as for multiple sclerosis, as an example.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So in multiple sclerosis, it’s many environmental factors which are important. It’s like the Vitamin D3 and K2, it’s an insufficiency of Omega 3, it’s a disturbance in the gut brain axis, it’s related to a silent inflammation in the small intestine. It’s related to disturbance in the GPS in the neck, but it is also related to Epsteinbar virus and Lyme disease. But Epsteinbar and Lyme is very, very often related to heavy metals and mercury and aluminium and all that, but very often they are related to inflammation below the teeth. So, and I would say in 90% of the clients who we see in Parkinson’s and multiple sclerosis, we have to focus on your field, we have to clear that and afterwards it’s easier to gain them back. But I would say all socalled Western disease in civilized countries are associated to the health of the gut and the oral space. We call it oral gut axis or gut oral axis. And that’s related to the immune response.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
And taking this into account, have you ever heard about the fatty degenerative osteonecrosis, osteolyzes, the former NICO? So taking this, do you think it is important to treat this?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
It’s very important. It’s very important. And we learned that already 15 and 20 years ago by Johann Lechner and by Uli, then we focused on the NICO’s, but very often below that. So it’s this fatty degeneration which we are able to see in a three dimensional imaging, and then we have to carry it. And in that field, that is a kind of inflammation. So without inflammatory markers, it’s associated to RANTES, which is the bone. And since many years for bone disease and osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, we know that migrant. But there is an intersection in between your field and ours. We know that we have to clear it. If you ask me, even in healthy people, let’s take out a group of professional people in sports, all of these people are checked. And if they have a problem in that field, it has to be cleared. Otherwise the risk of injury, otherwise the risk to not to be able to be alive in that career is high. So from my point of view, we have to focus on it and we should clear it, we should screen it. And if we found some difficulties, we have to send it to your clinic to clear it.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
That’s very interesting, because now we are talking about very healthy people. You are considering one reference with professional athletes, especially the professional football players. So do you think that dentistry treatment, oral treatment is important for this group of patients?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So I’m absolutely convinced. And for that reason I had the chance to integrate this in the medical staff. So when we started in Leipzig in 2012, that was the fifth league. So we organized special educated dentists. So they’re, the ordinary dentists, they look for the teeth, and it’s fine in the young players, but that is not enough. So we have our own dentists out of the school of Uli, and then dentists who looked deeper and before they got a contract, they are screened by a dentist. Second, if new players came from other countries within the first three days, they are screened by a dentist. And not a superficial few, all good, nobody deep insights. That’s like Professor Ghanaati. So that’s a high end university medicine in dental health. So other clinics should learn about that. But in the clubs, so we do not discuss about money, because the dentist is not that expensive. And if we are not able to clear an inflammation anyhow, he will not have the career. And the cost with the injury is much higher. So if you ask me when I had a chance to take the decision, all clubs should intigrate special educated dentists in this field to avoid injuries and to support athletic development and athletic health.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
The oral system also is integrated with nutrition. What is your position, your knowledge and how nutrition is important in this whole.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So for us, nutrition is very, very, very important. And so if we look at the guidelines of these different societies for nutrition, they are from the last century. And like in your field, you know, the sugar and these short chain carbs and corn syrup and soft drinks, they are very bad for your teeth, for the mouth, they kill the gut, they kill the liver, they kill the muscle, they kill the brain. For that reason we eliminated that. So it’s a different approach in food and nutrition, we had very good success with the clients. And it’s like a green and a yellow and a red light. Red light is junk food, red light is corn syrup. Red light, so that’s the bad side. You should eliminate that. Then we have the yellow light. You can have that. You can have some carbs, no problem. And it’s the green light that’s greens and vegetables and salad. These are fruits, which are low in fructose, like berries and like apricots, but not any juice drinks, but the fruit. And then we had a good quality of meat. We eliminated gluten. So get rid of gluten, but instead of that to run on Amarant, Quinoa and Buckley. It’s called Glycoplan. And first, we integrated that in the hockey national team in 2004 and in hockey it was not that difficult to integrate it. We need a smart coach like Bernhard Peters and then intelligent people in sports science like Stefan Mücke and we made it with a huge success. Second, we had a chance to integrate that in Hoffenheim. There was a third league club in 2006 and a very smart sports director and coach Ralf Rangnick opened the door. Yes, he’ll change it, everything. And then I changed everything in the US national team with Jürgen Klinsmann. We kicked out carbs, pizza, pasta, coke, ban! And instead of that we used the healthy food, which so we had some difficulties, but we made it. We integrated the chefs and the people in the kitchen to educate the players. We have to educate the players and the girlfriend and the wife of the player. We have to educate staff and if they all know it, so they synchronize. As soon as they synchronize, it will run. And in the high end we had a chance to rule that in Leipzig in 2012/15 and we checked the gut, we measured almost everything.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
We checked even with codes, different colors at the buffet, some of the players without nitrates, some of the players without gluten, some of them very low in fructose and we had huge success and we had 1000 days less of injury in one season, in spite of almost double the games. And food and nutrition is most important because the food and oral health and the gut health is most important to understand metabolism. And so if it’s an inflammation, it’s bad for the heart, it’s bad for the brain, it’s bad for regeneration, it’s bad for the sleep. But if it’s antiinflammatory food, so it’s good for almost everything. So it’s natural eating, it’s not a diet and you will not miss anything, but no bad carbs and no fructose and corn syrup, but the good end of the food. And so that’s not just for professional people in sports, they do it anyhow, but it’s good for everybody, but latest so when people get sick, they should change.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Yeah, and also change is a reeducation.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
Yes.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Also for us, very important. Your opinion about implantation? We are specialized in ceramic implants and what’s your opinion about implantations?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So in the past, I’ve seen many difficulties. So if the system is disbalanced, if the immune ecosystem is disbalanced, and then if they put in this titan implants so I’ve seen bad results. So because it’s not just the implant so it’s the environment. And then if the environment is toxic and inflamed, it’s hard to understand to put an implant in. But then if the titan oxide and the titan is too hard we very often have seen inflammation in the bone and in the jaw. And for that reason, from our point of view it was a breakthrough. The neuroclinic and Uli in the past jumped on ceramic implants. And so not just on the ceramic implant, but how to integrate it. It’s not the implant, it’s the environment. It’s like the fish in the water. If the water is toxic in the aquarium, the fish will die. But if you go to put healthy fishes in the dirty water, so the healthy fish will die. So we need the system. And that’s what I like in Swiss Biohealth Clinic and Swiss Dental Solutions, it’s integrated. And then another group, like from Tilman Fritsch in Bayerisch Gmain, him also in the team in Leipzig, he also went on antiinflammatory food, then ceramic implants.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
But then we need a lot of experience on what you developed in the past years. That is very, very important. And then I would take out the inflamed teeth and then I would put in with the right assessment. So a ceramic implant. And for me, I would never take anything else than a ceramic implant.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Yeah, I think in myself as well. And last question that is to close this thinking of health in a team and in a whole way of seeing things. How would you consider the treatment of gum disease or periodontitis?

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
So I think that’s a huge topic and many people suffer, but they don’t know. And so if I ask some friends of mine like this a fix narrow medicine, it’s not just to lose weight, it’s gut health. So people have to spend a lot of time to chew the food. And so then it’s the oral, stomach, gut access. For that reason, if people are sick and they don’t know about, later on they will develop a heart attack, they will develop a kind of arteriosclerosis, so they will develop inflammation. So it’s neuro disease and it’s a door. If it’s inflamed, the disease will spread out. But if we clear that door, if we care, we can avoid that spreading out of toxins, but then we can support spreading out of health. For that reason we should care. And if you ask me, all professions, different people who specialize on different topics, cardiologists and neurologists, they should know more about it. And we have to learn from each other for that reason. In the future, I see like an interprofessional setting and a trans professional setting, but not just to do it beside each other, but really joining together.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
And then, even if I do not work as a dentist, I have to know what you do. And if I see the clients, then I know, oh, this client has to go to your clinic. And even if you do not focus on myoreflex neuromuscular work so then you see a client and you see, oh, that’s a strange position in the neck. He’s not able to open the mouth. He’s suffering dizziness and headache and migraine and ringing in the ear. So it’s not just the teeth then, it’s the GPS, which is out of control. And then you should join together. And then I should care. And for that reason I like it. So we are very close with Kreuzlingen and Konstanz. But in future direction, like we learned to date, community is spreading out. And then there are different islands when people join together. And so we have to carry our clients. We have to hold them, we have to support them, we have to teach them. And it’s health education. And if you ask me, it’s even important to do prophylaxis. What do you do as the dentist? You’re educated in that. All other disciplines should do that as well.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
We should not wait until the teeth is dying, but we should do prophylaxis in the situation when there is a silent inflammation. And then we should clear that before an open fire will destroy the house. For that reason. So we need each other. We teach each other and we join together as a team and in the center to carry the health of our clients.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
A wonderful conclusion. Yeah, no words. I just want to thank you so much for being here with us. And until the next time.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
Thank you, it has been a pleasure.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
Thank you.

Dr. Kurt Mosetter
All the best.

Prof. Dr. Etyene Schnurr
All the best. For you too.
