Become an expert in biological dentistry and ceramic implants within a few days!

This two-day course is the proven way to the „Biological and Implantological Olympus“ par excellence and represents our absolute master course. Therefore, you should definitely take the time to attend levels 2 to 4 of the CERAMIC IMPLANTOLOGY WEEK as an advanced level. Of course, this does not
apply to those of you who have been using SDSALL for some time and have already gained extensive experience with SDS ceramic implants.

Also in this intensive training week we will work with you step by step and level by level on the necessary knowledge and make sure that you will always have fun, get everything you need and in no case be bored with things that are unimportant. Since we dentists and implantologists are also craftsmen in a certain way and, due to our haptic inclination, like to apply everything practically right away, we have integrated two hands-on days into the CERAMIC IMPLANTOLOGY WEEK!

The CERAMIC IMPLANTOLOGY WEEK includes 4 levels:

  • Level 1 – Case Planning:
    • X-ray and DVT analysis
    • Possible applications of SDS implants
    • Immediate or late implantation, diameter and lengths
    • Special types: Sinus, Balcony, Shorty, Oval implant
    • Creation of the planning animation for the patient
    • Error analysis and complication management

Level 1 – Case Planning
Moritz Kneer, Team of the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC

You probably also spend a significant part of your valuable time on implant planning? In principle, this is correct, because good planning reduces the execution time on the patient and prevents failures, surprises or complications. However, we believe that there is still great potential to reduce this effort to a fraction by implementing fixed decision algorithms in your case planning, which we call
„painting by numbers“. To give you a simple example: the decision which erupted wisdom tooth can be retained or should better be removed is made by us, our surgeons and our users within one second, exactly according to a fixed algorithm. If the 8 is complete, even distally, surrounded by keratinized gingiva, we leave it in place. If not, then it must be removed, because this represents a periodontopathy and the deep gingival pocket or hood allows the pathogens – like a Trojan horse – to attack the middle germ layer, the bone, without maintaining the immunological protection of the outer germ layer, the keratinized gingiva. According to these fixed algorithms, you will be able to quickly decide which teeth will be removed, in which positions implants of what length and diameter will be planned, and what will be the extent of the long-term temporary. Of course, we will also show you the possible
applications of special shapes such as sinus implants, balcony implants, shorty implants and oval implants. How do you proceed with simultaneous removal/therapy of infections, cysts or osteolytic areas? How do we place implants in bone class IV or in the rock-hard bone class I? What techniques do we use to be able to place an immediate implant even in an upper septal region, even if there is no bone between the alveoli? In this course we will also focus on the most common mistakes in ceramic implantology that can lead to failure and how to avoid them. Because, as we all know, mistakes are the best way to learn. We will use many case studies to show you what you need to pay particular attention to. We also go into detail on the subject of complication management and how to react correctly if a complication occurs. This way you will be prepared for any situation.

It is best to bring some OPG‘s and DVT‘s with you on a USB stick, so that you can plan these cases directly with our support. You will be especially impressed by the planning tool developed by Dr. Karl Ulrich Volz, which you will take home with you for your later planning! Hand on heart: hardly any dentist understands his own treatment and cost plans, so how is a patient supposed to understand what you have in mind for him? However, if you provide the patient with an animation of the treatment result, your „closing ratio“ will increase massively. These animations will be created by you in minutes and will also serve as a perfect visual guide for yourself during the operation.

The following points are discussed:

• X-ray and DVT analysis
• Possible applications of SDS implants
• Immediate or late implantation, diameter and lengths
• Special types: Sinus, Balcony, Shorty, Oval implant
• Creation of the planning animation for the patient
• Error analysis and complication management

Level 2 – Hands-On Surgery Course
Moritz Kneer, Team of the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC

Now you are itching to use the basic and planning knowledge from the previous day to insert as many SDS implants as possible of the most varied geometries and all conceivable indications in the artificial jaw and to feel how the unique shape of the Dynamic Thread® almost magically finds its way into the bone that you have designated. There is no bumping during drilling, no slippage of the implant, no sticking, no spinning – the SDS implants simply „glide into place“ and you enjoy the experience of more than 20 years of ceramic implantology and thousands of surgery days, which have gone into the development of this system! On this first hands-on day, you will not only implant the simulated situations at your own workstation, which will be projected onto a 7 m wide LCD screen by the instructors using a clever camera technique, but you will also practice intelligent incision and suture techniques on special artificial jaws with imitation gingiva. These techniques help to maintain the blood supply and are minimally invasive, painless and swelling-free for the patient. Relief incisions and periosteal slits were eliminated from the program at SDS many years ago – because they leave and cause swelling, pain, scarring and destroy the blood supply, increasing the risk of complications.
Your successful and easy introduction to implantology with SDS is guaranteed by the use of a navigation template (2ingis®), which you will find in the „SDSBOX“. This enables drilling and placement in an ideal implant position by means of prior three-dimensional planning by a surgeon of the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC.

You will also work with the new ad hoc navigation system, the SDSAIM  ANATOMICAL IMPLANTATION METHOD on the artificial jaw model, place implants in the edentulous maxilla in absolutely perfect and parallel positions and at the same time generate optimal distances between the implants, which are essential for filling the interdental spaces with healthy papillae.

The following points are discussed:

  • Incision and suture techniques on the artificial jaw
  • The SDS biological drilling protocol
  • Implant placement of a wide range of indications and implant shapes on the artificial jaw
  • Application of the AIM parallel technique

Level 3 – Prosthetics Hands-On Course
Caroline Vollmann, Team of the SWISS BIOHEALTH CLINIC

On this further hands-on course day, everything revolves around the prosthetic standards in connection with SDS implants, which include both the final restoration with zirconia crowns and the restoration with manually and digitally fabricated long-term temporaries. After you have learned all the essentials from the preparation of the abutment to the placement of the definitive crowns, we will focus in the second part on the fabrication of perfect temporaries for immediate loading, as these can at best secure the surgical result, but can also negatively influence it in the event of incorrect loading. You will use various manual techniques to fabricate high-quality long-term temporaries on the model made the day before. You will also be introduced to the fabrication and processing of digital CAD/CAM long-term temporaries. You will realize how important a parallel and perfect implant position is, because on this second practice day you will be able to fabricate an esthetically, and in terms of marginal fit and friction, perfect long-term temporary for the entire jaw in record time, which will provide you with completely new options for restoring the papillae and excellent esthetics in the subsequent surgery. The particularly ingenious thing about these two practical hands-on course days is that you will take the models with the inserted implants and the long-term temporaries home with you and can use them later to educate your patients.

The following points are discussed:

• Prosthetic standards with SDS: from abutment preparation to crown insertion
• Insertion of the implant abutment and preparation
• Long-term temporaries fabrication with various manual techniques as well as digitally with CAD/CAM
